Chazy 2, Bolton 0



Eagles Extend Streak

WILLSBORO -- Chazy extended its streak to 13 straight Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference boys' soccer titles with a 2-0 victory over Bolton.

The Chazy Eagles have won 21 of the last 22 championships dating back to 1986.

Bolton had opportunities early in the game, but the Chazy (17-1) defense managed to hold strong.

"Our defense with Ben Baker, Kaleb Snide, Michael Santor and AndrewLaPierre played well," Chazy head coach Rob McAuliffe said. "We played composed and defended well."

Stetson Fields scored both goals for Chazy. Fields tallied a penalty kick at 30:11 gone in the first half to put Chazy up 1-0.

Fields scored again just 4:18 into the second half on a ball from Shea Howley.

Austin Santor picked up the shutout victory for Chazy with three saves, and Mitchell Jordan made 11 stops in net for Bolton.

Chazy 8, Crown Point 0

CHAZY -- Stetson Fields scored five goals Thursday night and the Eagles (15-1 overall) rolled to their victory.

Chazy scored five goals in the first 16 minutes of the first half and three more in the first 13 minutes of the second stanza.

Jordan Barriere, Jason Baker and Shea Howley also tallied goals for the Eagles, who finished with a 33-5 shot advantage.

Austin Santor recorded four saves in net for the shutout and Justin Potter stopped 20 shots for the Panthers.

Chazy 1, E'town 0

Chazy wins a close one, edging E'town 1-0.

"Chazy does it again to E'town

ELIZABETHTOWN -- You don't win three state championships without a few close calls along the way.

"They (Chazy) know how to play in those tight games, that's for sure," acknowledged Elizabethtown-Lewis Coach Paul Buehler, after his gallant Lions fell 1-0 Friday to the Eagles, the reigning state champs in Class D boys' soccer.

Stetson Fields scored from Jason Baker with 7:46 to play in the first half and Chazy (14-1) made it stand up for its second 1-0 victory over rival E'town-Lewis this fall.

"It was an evenly played game. We had a number of opportunities early on and some good ones in the second half," Buehler recalled. "And they (Chazy) had some great opportunities, too.

"It was just another classic E'town-Chazy soccer game."

Chazy beats Westport 5-1

Chazy 5, Westport 1

CHAZY -- Stetson Fields scored with 10:25 to play in the first half to snap a 1-1 tie and spur Chazy (12-1) on in a non-league game.

Jason Baker put Chazy on top 10:28 into the contest, but Nathan Gay answered for Westport (4-4). Eighth-grader Brandon Laurin set up Fields' go-ahead goal eight minutes later.

Fields then scored two unassisted goals four minutes apart in the second half and Shea Howley added one to help Chazy pull away.

Chazy outshot Westport 21-6 with Colin MacIver stopping 13 shots on the Westport net. Austin Santor had four saves for Chazy.

Fields played well offensively for Chazy and Kaleb Snide stood out in the back.

Nathan Gay had a strong game for Westport.

Howley, Baker lead Chazy

CHAZY -- Shea Howley and Jason Baker scored two goals each Thursday night and Chazy recorded a 5-2 victory over Willsboro in Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference boys' soccer.

The Warriors grabbed an early lead on Patrick Wells' goal at 12:42.

But, the Eagles (10-1, 6-0) roared back when Jason Baker tallied at 17:14, Stetson Fields at 19:08 and Howley at 25:41.

Howley and Jason Baker then scored in the first 16 minutes of the second half to give the Eagles a 5-1 edge before Rustam Kusufov scored for Willsboro with 9:24 left.

Austin Santor made five saves for the Eagles and Justin Drinkwine 18, for the Warriors.

Chazy 7, Schroon Lake 0

CHAZY -- Stetson Fields and Shea Howley combined for five goals as the Eagles (9-1) cruised to a win.

Fields had two goals in the first half and another in the second, as well as an assist. Howley added a goal in each half.

Nathan Reynolds and Brandon Laurin also scored. Tyler Bulriss had three assists, and Jordan Barriere chipped in two.
