Chazy 7, Heuvelton 0: Another Final 4 for Chazy

Chazy defeated Section X champions Heuvelton 7-0 yesterday to advance to another New York State Class D Final 4.

Brandon Laurin scored another hat trick to lead the way.

The Eagles didn't jump to the lead as early as they have in recent matches, but Laurin got them started when he scored from Josh Barriere at the 14:11 mark of the first half. Nathan Reynolds made it 2-0 15 minutes later, opening the floodgates. Laurin and Hayden Guay added goals before halftime, and then in the first minute of the second half, Laurin scored again to make it 5-0.

Barriere and Botten added goals to complete the scoring.

The Eagles outshot Heuvelton 23-2, with Kyle Bisonette and Trent Blais sharing time in the net.

Chazy has outscored its four opponents 31-2 in the postseason, but will likely face a tougher challenge in the next round when they face unbeaten and #2 ranked Poland, champions of Section III, on Saturday in the state semifinals.
